Hillingdon 8th dec

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Well done Robs. I'd be interested to know how far behind you were at the finish?

Also thanks everyone for the support. Let's face it - I wouldn't (yet?) be racing if it wasn't for Addiscombe.

[quote="KeithK"]Well Done Keith, see you the big boys soon.

In the E/1/2/3 the bunch split within four laps.

It really hurts me to say I was with the lead group and didn't notice a gap open four riders ahead untill we were on the back straight. I got past them but into the headwind I could not get across, and worse, I blew and nearly got shot out the back of the bunch as they came past. AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH the frustration was almost to much.

With three laps to go we were lapped and five riders would not let them go and only jumped in and got stuck into their sprint.
It has to be said there is some cheating barstewards out there. I protested and hope they at least get put to the back of the field if not DQ'd

The only good thing for me was that I was so wound up nobody was comming past me in the bunch sprint. Lesson learnt-warm up properly in case it starts really fast.

Don't worry mate I was so angry at that carry on I didn't even sprint. I stayed at the end with Doug and Lucy and went through the video pointing out all the riders who'd cheated and they wrote it all down. I doubt they'll get DQed but we'll have to wait and see. The worst one of all was that Thorsten Klassen dude. He did no work to chase back, I mean NONE, while some of us worked out bollox off.
You're so right about warming up properly for days like today, you always have to be ready at the start. I only started to feel ok after half an hour but it was sayonara by then.
Hope to see you next week.

For all the ACC posse that rocked in the 4th cat race, and for a disgruntled Keith, there's a topic open on Hillingdon on the BBC cycling pages. There'll also be a coach answering any racing or training questions some of the newer riders may want to ask... please chip in.

35mph wind!

So, on Dennis' photos, Moores isn't actually sprinting against a Dynamo to the line?

35 was the strongest gust. The windiest section was the back straight, the drag to the line wasn't bad.
