I got one the weekend before when me and the shadow went out for the pre club-run hour - it was -2° when I left, then after a failry sedate 19mph to Charlwood, me and Hasledene didn't stop, gave it plenty all the way back - I don't think the numbers on the powertap go high enough for the kind of wattage that man puts out on the flat and when we got on the hills I was taking over so it was a bit of an ill-advised thrash given the temparatures

Actually it wasn't from the ride I got sick, it was getting back to a hot stuffy office full of people who were already passing a seriuos infection around

Quickly developed into my usual bronchopneumonia, been off the bike for 2.5 weeks but went out yesterday and was interested to see that despite speeds bordering on a miserly 18mph, my heart rate had spent an hour in the 'racing' zone on my powertap - ie over 170

Wow Huw there's no grey areas with your health. You're either quite unwell or doing fine. Take it easy mate :)

I would bet that nobody has caught a cold because of riding last weekend.

They may have caught a cold from coming into contact with people carrying the cold virus though.

Ok Mr Pedant. How many people think they became susceptible to catching a cold because of a slightly weak immune system caused by riding last weekend in the wet and cold and hence made contact with others and as a result now have colds :?

Yep - went down to 9st 8 - wouldn't reccomend that particular diet to get there though

Fortunately Tesco downstairs from the office is doing a 2 for 1 deal on boxes of Mr Kipling mince pies (exceedingly good) so I'm well on the road to recovery :D

Nope, its because the Kurt Kinetic is still worth a ago even with a bunged up nose - yes indeed a lovely nice smooth ride even in the kitchen. Yesterdays afternoons 2 x20's were held at the 2004 TDF, I can't remember what the stage was but me, Armstrong and Basso shredded the group on the final climb - it was awsome! All on a packet of malteasers and large mug of coffee :D

PS Welcome aboard mate :D
