Xmas period rides

Postby huw williams » Wed Dec 19, 2007 1:10 pm

As the other thread moved in the direction of Proper xmas food vesus toasties - post any ride details here

Heres one I know of from John Leitch which I did last year - me and a couple of guys from Redhill CC had a tear-up - great fun. As its a saturday you could do the CR then head out there from the caf - get a 100 miles in :D

"I was planning to do a repeat of last year's little "friends" ride round the same course as the CTC Hilly 50km

Date: Saturday 29 December

Times: Ryka's Cafe at 12.00 noon
(so 7 The Avenue, Brockham depart at 11.50)

If you are interested it would be really good to have you in the group.

John"

I will be leaving Lapland about midday local time of Christmas Eve to start a high-speed round the world dash. Anybody wanting to get some miles in with a reindeer paced ride will be most welcome to tag along in the slipstream of my sleigh. You should be back in time for lunch on Christmas Day.

Sounds good to me Huw.

Saturday 29th Dec.
CR to cafe - food and chit-chat.
Box Hill return to then pick up the Hilly 50 route.
(Wouldn't bank on me being in full tear-up mode though  )

Monday 31st Dec.
Country Pub Jaunt.
Steady paced social ride without tear-ups (unless there's a splinter group who meet up with others at the pub), to a country pub. Eat and drink a lot. Ride back - possibly in different groups depending on when people can tear themselves out the pub, or how much they've drunk/eaten.
Suggestions for destination and pub, otherwise we could head out through Penshurst to Tonbridge area or similar and find a pub there.

Who's up for this one?

[quote="Seanieh_Has3TktsWant1?©"]Andrew, do you ever have a day off the bike ?

Oh yes, quite a lot actually. I'd be a damn site better if I didn't. :D

See Sean, I'll only have done about 8,500km.
