Do Bike Plus do this sort of thing? Just a though as our extra discount applies there as well on Friday doesn't it?

If you don't have a bag, it may be worth finding your friendly local Brompton dealer and asking for one of the boxes that they come from the factory in. That, some foam and plenty of Duct Tape (what else? ) will get the bike there and back safely.

Are you taking it as carry on luggage? If so... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Folding-bike-bag-fits-brompton-bronx-ridgeback-present_W0QQitemZ200183820557QQihZ010QQcategoryZ33503QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Think the bag doesn't have any padding, hence so cheap compared to the £70-£100 ones, and indeed my question.

You might be okay though if you just fill all available space with bubble wrap, and / or foam padding. You could also try and nip along to a DIY shop or similar and get some of that stripy tape with fragile written on it. Wrap that around the bag a couple of times and at least it'll alert the handlers so they (hopefully) won't chuck it about.

Or get a cheapo foam camping mat, chop it up and line the bag with that.
