Hello from OZ

Postby mark mclaughlin » Mon Dec 24, 2007 4:54 am

Greetings from down under.

I'm over here catching up with my sister and her family near Perth.
Been throwing myself into the cycling scene here as my 15 year old nephew Jonno is now part of the JETS(junior elite track squad).

Been out on the road and sampled a Tues evening track training session at the Speedome nearby. It's a fantastic atmosphere and great to meet all the coaches and riders - some serious talent here and just a great enviroment for Jonno to hopefully excel in.
Funny thing got talking to this older guy Peter whos a great friend of Eddie Monday, sends his regards... small world!

Road riding has been great here you can cycling up and down the coast roads and there's good cycle paths hugging all the amazing beaches.
Only drawback (shouldn't grumble I know) is the strong winds, been out this morning battling against cross and headwinds, certainly makes you work hard. Have had time to get used to the heat also which has been a pleasent 26C but as from today things are hotting up - its 36C today and for Xmas 38C- SCORCCHIO!!

Here's wishing all ACC's a great XMAS and Happy Safe Riding in 2008.

Must get in that pool now. Cheers!

Click this link and you can track Santa, courtesy of the American military (so it's probably a fib but hey, who cares).

Have a good one

So you're going to come back off your Christmas holiday fit as a fiddle and tanned like a pro, while we're all battling the elements in 4 layers.

Getting your winter fixed wheel training in on a track in Australia, I can see why you opted for that route. :D

(Ahead Snoop, I think he'll have already been.)
