I have a very large Planet X padded bike bag if that would be any good. It doesn't have any wheels and is a big fella, but it will take everything and has a load of pockets inside.

Not a box, but let me know if you want it - £20.

Is it padded enough for air transport?

Bike Plus are selling one at the moment second hand for £50. The only downside it doesn't have any keys :(

Yes Carl it's the same type as all other padded bike bags, although obviously nothing is guaranteed once in the hands of baggage handlers, even boxes.

It has plenty of room inside so you cocoon your frame in pipe lagging and/or bubble wrap before putting it in there. With mine I only had to take the bars out the stem and tape them alongside the top tube, removed rear mech (taped to stays) for safety and in it went.

I'm without a car at the moment but if you want to drop round and see it then give me pm and we can sort out a time. If you don't like it don't worry it'll just go back up in the loft.

Cheers,

Andrew.

I have a planet x bike bag, apparently you can get two bikes (frames and bars etc at the very least) into it. Its pretty good.

Thanks for the info chaps
Ended up scooting over to bike plus via gb's and resisting temptation from buying things in there i don't need and bought the polaris eva.Their knocking em out for £160 down from £200,so not to bad
If anyone is looking to buy one, they were c+ recommended for value for money etc
