Hog Hill Update

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Hog Hill Update

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Fri Jan 18, 2008 9:12 am

[quote]Chris Simms (Fitzpatrick - the contractor) said that the Top Circuit should be completed by the end of February subject to reasonable weather. The Main Pavilion would not be completed then so a Temporary Changing/ HQ area would be made available in what was currently the Site Welfare building. The car park would be completed.

Come on guys - be positive..... :P

I've been up there and seen the layout - a lot of work has been done, and I'm sure Fitzpatrick's will do a good job

Well, I'm glad I wasn't holding my breath. I've had confirmation that the offroad facility won't be ready for this year's Beastway series :( .

On the plus side, this does mean that we've got the excuse to negotiate use of the Hainault Forest site again for this summer's Beastway. I like holding races there, it's almost like proper mountainbiking :D  .

Graeme, to be fair I did say ROAD circuit

Latest is that they are shipping in a few hundrer cubic metres of soil to ease the gradient on the climb - rumour has it that it is being returned from Eastway, having been in Big Yellow Storage :| :|

[quote]A bit of an up date on Hog Hill since the last meeting Vick attended Trevor Mills and Myself ( Dave Smith ) attended a further site meeting on the 31st Jan. The access road to the Circuit and a Car park by the Pavilion ( which is beginning to take shape the Roof is going on at the moment ) have been completed. The work to tarmac and curb the top circuit had started that morning and they where looking to complete the top circuit this week by the 8th Feb. and we are looking to start moving stuff from the dock with in the following two weeks with the aim of have some sort of facility ready for Saturday the 23rd Feb. This will be dependent on Redbridges Insurers give cover to a site that is still only partially completed. Also until Vision appoint more staff to run the site I am doing my one man band act and all will depend on how much I can fit into my 25 hours.

I am disapointed at the lack of support for the Docks having spent several Saturdays with only 3 or 4 attendance this weekend I had no customers.
