The forum software hates me

Well my email address anyway.
When I try and use it it says: "The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used."

any ideas? I looked at the phpBB source and there isn't any default set for this, the only way this happens is when it matches an entry in the ban_email column of the phpbb_banlist table. Perhaps someone was banned and the rule was a bit "wide ranging"?
