If that was a training ride I would hate to be in a race at CP. Blimey it got up to some serious speeds in the last few laps, excellent warm up for Chertsey this weekend. I got dropped with a few laps to go but am putting this down to the following reasons:

- Was on my hack bike
- Drank a load of wine the night before
- Only had 4 hours sleep the night before

My overall impression of the track was that it was a great surface but it was a bit narrow. I wonder how many people they are going to allow to race in each race they hold, I could not see them having 70 odd riders at a time like at Hillingdon.

The first left hand corner at the bottom of the hill seemed to be on a strange camber which I would imagine taken too fast in a race would lead to a few people hitting the grass section off to the left, and with a lot of riders maybe worse.

I will go again next week but am not sure about racing the circuit, maybe I am too much of a chicken. What did the rest of you think?

Cheers

Ok I did it.

I went down the 40 foot dirt bank and stayed upright all the way! It's called 'Doing a Lance', well it was now it's 'Doing a Steve'.

Not the tightest of corners but at race speed with people moving over towards you there is not a lot of room.

I dont want to put any riding next to me off, but that corner just worries me at the moment. Definately going to nail it next week.

As to racing there, well with E 1 2s as well I reckon it's not really a race. Should be great training though.

But I am not going anywhere near it in the rain.

I also managed a couple of extra miles on the way home as I got lost!

I thought it was a fast circuit. I was pleasantly surprised that the climb was not too bad.

I was a bit concerned about that corner at the bottom of the hill but mainly because there was a huge tree just on the outside of the exit from the corner, exactly where you would end up if you ran a bit wide.

Apparently they are going to try riding it the other way round next week.

I'm not sure how they are going to run the races. I thought I saw somewhere that they would be handicapped which would help avoid the first lap scrum into the corners.

What a night!
I think Crystal Palace s**t's all over Hillingdon. Last night did get a bit silly for a training session though.
I do believe Dazza had a few cracks at the pace setting so maybe that's why it split up a bit.

See you all there next week

Why watch, bring your bike along and ride. It is only a training ride next week so you can pootle around at your own speed.

Cheers

Hmmmm, funny you can find time to play on your road bike.... but think you need to sell your MTB in the other place???

You truly have gone to the darkside.
