ok, tried moving my weight back a bit this morning and keeping my legs loose. EXACTLY the same thing happened :shock: .
I blame the road :P since my technique must be perfect....
I'll try and take a slightly different line through in future I think. or go back at the weekend sometime and try it a few times.

i don't think you can bank into a corner *without* countersteering - i think it's what makes the bike lean over

I think it's based on pushing out and down rather than just leaning on the bars so it has a more pronounced effect.

Grahame's simple guide to high speed cornering:

Outside pedal down.
Weight on outside pedal.
Point inside knee where you want to go.

Well, it works for me (on the road at least).
