OH MY LORD!!!!

Rain or what!!

I write this under the threat of electrocution! My feet are in 3 inches of water, soaked through!.

Luckily I decided against goint to the Palace because of the rain, though due to being in a basement I didnt actually see the storm! I turned around from my computer at 6:30pm and water was lapping at my feet. A 30 foot expanse of office flooring under water - I just didnt notice it coming. So 4 ways and sockets were rescued from the tide and I just spend an hour or so with a plank of wood, squeezing every drop of smelly water towards the pumps!!!

We only moved in here last week.

Damage is not severe but we've lost photos and videos of work, who knows how the computers will react when I switch them on and run tomorrow morning.

If I had gone to the Palace we wouldnt have seen this till morning and who knows what may have happened by then.

Anyway I'm still here trying to salvage stuff for tomorrow and laugh as my toes turn to prunes!!!!!

No sh1t.

I was driving home tonight and you couldn't tell the road from the pavement because the water was so high! Some numb nuts were still cycling listening to their iPod or something with headphones in t-shirt and shorts aswell - top marks for balls!

I was riding home last night and thought a mains had burst as I went up Denmark Hill. Couldn't believe the amount of water was pouring down the road....and then it just got worse and worse. Herne Hill was submerged calf deep with no clue as to where the pavement and road met....and then it hailed. I pedalled in awe up Croxted Road with an ice flow gushing over my pedals and a manic grin on my face. Really sorry for anyone who's suffered flood damage....but what an brilliant, exhilerating ride...totally transformed a boring Tuesday night commute. And to think....I'd been moaning at work because I'd forgotten my overshoes....like they'd have made the slightest difference!
