Whats the world coming to?

Rode into work yesterday, in hindsight wished I hadn`t. Managed to make it into London with out any problems considering the temperature.

Pulled up at the junction between Kennington Park Road and Kennington Park Place, lights changed I moved off, except not very far, next thing I know I am lying on my side in the road. The first ice I had encountered on my way in from Caterham On The Hill. Fortunately not too much damage, scratches to the bike and took the skin off my upper thigh the size of a tennis ball, not to mention the bruising.

Picked myself up and got myself out of the junction. There was absolutely no concern shown by the car drivers behind me who just drove round while I lay on the road. Not even the nearby manual road sweeper who witnessed it all, didn`t even check if I was okay.

Whats the world coming too?

Ouch sounds like that'll be stinging at the mo. Glad you're okay, if you can get to the Royal Standard on Thursday Huw can have a look at it for you .

Sadly it isn't surprising from the drivers, once you get that far in to London most seem to have half their mind already in the office. It really is poor that no passers by or the road sweeper checked you were okay. You didn't even get a half-hearted, "alright?".

The first person to invent a grit hopper for the front of a bike'll do well.......then again maybe not. Hope the scuffs and bruises whizz away soon

Thanks guys, a few pints of Pride will be just what the doctor ordered. On my way in this morning, on the bike, I got to thinking that I was fortunate I hit the ice from a standing start, had the lights been in my favour who knows what damage I would have done, not to mention the fact I would still have had cars hot on my tail.

Then again, you might have skated across it at speed and been on the other side before you'd had chance to go down. Hope the bruises are on the mend.
