Chertsey - Where were you?

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Chertsey - Where were you?

I was assisting with the "beginners" and then commissairing the races, with not a single Agreeable in the pack.

Keith Knight kindly assisted by driving me round behind the bunch, as he had injured his ankle in a motorbike accident (but he'll be back).

Luckily, whilst riding out I was caught by 3 "Dynamos" who were travelling at 23's and got some shelter. Did my turns on the front, struggled to hold a wheel on a slight rise, then realised one of them was female  Made an extra special effort to hang on, then rode past when they weren't sure which way to go as if I was quite fresh :D (hope they don't read this)

Too early in the year for me, and I doubt I'll do anymore 4th cat races at Chertsey - they attract too many nutters. I think I did 5 or 6 there last year and there was at least one crash in each race. The "safety" of the circuit attracts looneys and too many people who've never ridden in a bunch before.

Shame, quite a nice circuit.

No crashes yesterday Andrew, I think no matter where you race, 4th cat racing is dangerous simply due to the combined lack of experience.

Paul, you said they were all girls to me yesterday! lol
