Marco, how many is "a lot", it may not be what a printer considers a lot and limit options.

I would generally get quotes from both a digital (super duper colour laser) printer and a litho (wet ink on presses) type printer, for a range of quantities (in this case perhaps 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000). Printers will be used to this kind of request, and it will make it really clear how price varies with quantity.

Digital gives slightly lower quality and tends to be cheaper for short runs; litho better economy of scale.

I can investigate if I know:

- Page size
- Where is full colour required - outside front cover, inside front cover, all inside pages, only some inside pages? Is the rest just black text?
- Binding required (stapled, perfect bound (like a magazine)?)

He was a good racer, another ACC rider at the time was Darren Lowndes (i think) -a kiwi chap. Darren had a nasty tumble on a race circuit, cutting his leg quite badly, luke was also in the same race, as luke was self employed- and just about to buy a house/ get married/ start making babies- he decided that the racing game was a tad too risky.

And right about his father-in-law as well as always Marco - pretty sure he is Graham Bristow who promotes the Good Friday Track meeting amongst other things.

That's Darren far right in the picture - remember that day well, those 4 did the Team TT in the morning then we did a circuit race in the afternoon in the windiest conditions I've ever experienced. I tucked in behind Steve Cave for the entire 50 miles then rode round him at the finish line saying "cheers mate." Wheelsucking of Khandelwalian proportions :D

I get a twice yearly magazine printed for Blackheath Harriers. 1,000 run about 32 pages, between A4 and A5 size. I'll get my printer to quote. Roy.

Yep that is Luke Scott. Top geezer and was a fantastic rider. I used to go out on good training rides with Luke, Darren and David Findlay a few years ago now. We used to rip into each other at every opportunity, it was fantastic fun. Shame that Luke got the heebie jeebies, as did Darren. Following that race on the Ladies Mile where Darren hit the deck at a cool 55kmph I don't think that either of them raced again. Although that did not stop Darren ripping our legs off at every opportunity. He used to be a school teacher and had loads of time to train, he used to go and do hill repeats up and down Ide Hill for fun. When he came off his bike he could not use one leg so he did turbo training with one leg for about 4 weeks. He came back stronger than when he crashed, awesome commitment, kinda like George and his neck.

Luke gave up riding pretty much altogether once he got married, think he was getting a bit of ear ache from the misses. Real shame he stopped riding. Darren moved back to New Zealand, think he has two kids now, heard recently that he had a nasty crash, but is on the mend. David F now lives in Switzerland and where he once was an awful climber he is now very strong on the hills. I have been out to visit him a couple of times and he has a little group of ex pros living close by that he goes out with. They are a really nice bunch, David loves ripping their legs off on the flats, that guy could just go on forever into a force 9 headwind and would not slow down, awesome.

Cheers

Marek.....
