Bletchingley SCCU Review

Meet at CSS: 9.30am

Ride out to Beltchingley and do a lap of the SCCU sporting TT course. A “what the hell am I doing this for” lap for anyone who’s entered / is entering, an 11 mile loop on nice country lanes with a couple of lumps for those just fancy a ride.
Afterwards I intend to get a few more miles in by heading over towards Westerham direction, probably take in a hill or two, and with numerous options to extend the ride, add more hills, or cut back home depending on the mood of the individual. Café stop in Westerham a distinct possibility.

Orv is hopefully joining me for this (the SCCU review bit at least) so long as the doc gives him the all clear after his recent tarmac embracing experiment. Let me know if you are interested please as I will go to Bletchingley a different way if I’m on me tod rather than going to CSS first.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Coming over from Oxted so I wouldn't go via CSS.
Hmmm, weather is currently showing "light rain" for saturday and "heavy rain" for sunday.

I could be interested andrew but it depends on two things:

1. Just how knackered I may be after the alternative CR on Saturday
2. The missus is back from Japan staurday afternoon so she might not let me

I have your number so can let you know if i'm allowed / will allow myself out on Saturday night or Sunday morning if thats OK?

Cheers

I'm still hoping to do this but the weather may not playing ball, but I'm keeping things crossed.

Ivor - I'll pm you my mobile and if you can send me yours then I'll call you if I'm not going, if I am I think I'll get to Bletchingley about 10:15ish.

Mark - I've got your number so I'll let you know if I'm not going, If I don't call then I'll be at CSS at 9:30. Let me know if you're not allowed out to play.

Hi Andrew,
Picked up repaired bike this morning. yay! all shiny and new. :) no riding but saw loads of agreeables out and about on the roads driving around. What was the race going towards lingfield today? Looked like fun. Consoled myself with a session on the turbo instead.

Well inconclusive report from the Doc on friday, we think I may have a small fracture/chip in my elbow but for some reason "we" want to see what happens in a week before getting an x-ray done. very odd, I might just go along for an x-ray early next week anyway since it feels like Beelzebub is pissing acid on me when I touch it or knock it and I can't see why another week will help. Even though I don't plan on falling off (er sorry Dr Hutch, I mean crashing) anytime soon, I'm worried about going out on the bike just in case I knock it again in this condition.... hmm perhaps some elbow pads.

Weather report looks inconclusive at the moment and I really don't fancy any slippy riding, so I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Cheers,
Ivor

Can't make it myself now  , so will only have a short local spin.

If the pain is that bad Ivor it's probably best to stick to the dreaded turdo and wait on the doc, rather than risk anything. It's only a week or two off the bike which won't do any harm fitness/form wise.

Orv, I chipped a bone in my elbow many years ago and know exactly the pain you describe, it makes you feel sick with when you knock it. Mines still bad now if I knock it in the right (or wrong) place and has me swearing in pain through gritted teeth. Hope you get yours sorted, not sure why they want to leave it before getting it x-rayed. I didn't get mine seen to untill it was to late to do anything to it, a decision I regret now.

yeah that's it. and the pain sears and burns for a few minutes afterwards.

I'm supposed to grit my teeth when I swear? ah. :)

I found that very odd, basically she was saying well if it's just as painful after another week (two weeks so far) then it's probably a small fracture so we'll x-ray it.... isn't the point of the x-ray to find that out in the first place? and generally don't you want to detect and decide what to do with any fracture as soon as possible before it's too late to fix properly? Are they simply trying to save money and delaying all x-ray referrals.
hmm, as I said I think I'll turn up for an x-ray early in the week.
