Yes, saw that too... didn't see what it exactly the reason was though. Police, roadworks... was I too impatient to read the whole lot or am I being thick!?

Looks like roadworks may have cost some of the route, although this doesn't seem to be stopping the sportive. No need for a rolling road closure with that granted but a lot more cyclists on the road .
Also looks like Policing costs have again caused problems. Don't know how they're going to sort this out as obviously the Police need to be paid, as they are for any event, but something's not right when the top flight domestic race calendar is having events cancelled like this. At this rate all the motorists will get their way and have cycling driven off the roads, a perfect advert for promoting a healthier lifestyle in an obese country in the run up to hosting the Olympics .
