OK who wants to do the Mallorca sportive? (event details below)

The organiser will let you to do it for free and CW will pay you for a story. Think about it - you get paid to ride sportives, just like me!!!

You're over there anyway and its on roads you'd be riding anyway but with police rolling road closures. So come on, doesn't matter what your standard is, who's up for it?
Once in a lifetime opportunity, never to be repeated etc, etc

The event - The 1st DUVA INTERNATIONAL SPORTIVE MALLORCA APRIL 26TH AND 27TH 2008.
..will have a 94 km first day around the north of the Island to loosen the legs ready for the second day which features all the major climbs on the beautiful Island of Majorca and has been included in the Illes Balears Challenge Series for 208
The ride will benefit from a Police rolling road closure plus outriders and timed sections throughout the route which will be fully signed. Saturday will include a lap of the Sineu track just before the feed, Sunday will feature the Orient, Soller and Puig Major climbs plus several smaller but testing hills during the 135km route.
Each rider will receive a generous “goody bag” from the numerous sponsors to go with the usual fully supported feeds, back up and mechanical service en route.
This is an event for both the serious and new comers to sportive riding and will offer a chance to test your fitness before the major UK rides in May or help build up the fitness levels for the big international Etapes on the continent.

Huw - I am seriously tempted. I'd need to check with Mrs Snoop and of course I would miss the ACC open 25  . Would I fit the bill tho...? I was hardly the fastest on the Hell of Ashdown, tho I was a loooong way from being last too mind. Also - what costs would I (or someone more suitable if it ain't me) have to incur?

Cheers -

You'd have to be out there in the first place - I was aiming it at the people already going as part of Monty's trip which unfortunately I can't make this year.

But if someone like yourself wants to make the trip specifically to do the ride and have a short holiday - get yourself there and I think the organiser can do accomodation and event entry for you.

On a practical level the Wall in Ashdown took you what - 8 minutes? The Puig Major takes me around 40 mins, and there are 3 or 4 big ones before that :D

I had kind of assumed the CW company Lear Jet would be made available - shame :(

Well despite my enthusiasm, your most welcomed comparison of me n the wall and you n the puig has completely puig me off  I think I'd need two weeks to complete it - not two days. Hey ho - no harm in dreaming mind...
