Saturday - something different??

Postby Jon C C on a Bianchi » Fri Mar 07, 2008 10:07 pm

fancy something different? We're doing our usual thing and taking the train to Uckfield to ride out in the quiet country lanes of East Sussex. 40 + miles at a reasonably leisurely average Ritchie pace (approx 15 mph). But lots of fun charging off the front, sprints, racing uphills and then regrouping and recovering! Coffee stop obligatory. Train to uckfield leaves E.Croydon 8.23. Arrives 9.21. We're aiming to get back by about 3.00 (ish). Meet you on the platform, train or at Uckfield. For easy recognistion I'll be wearing ACC kit and a red carnation and a rolled up newspaper under my right arm :D

Cheers

Hi, Amy.

Don't think you ( or anybody for that matter) needs to be on form to ride with us!! You should have come along you'd have loved it.

Wind, rain, more wind, puncture, more rain and saddle problems but nothing could spoil a great day in the East Sussex countryside. :D Cut things a bit short - 55 kms in all but really enjoyed it. Bag of chips at Uckfield and back home by 2.45.

Maybe next time?

Cheers
