If one was to go the whole hog and skip just getting the wheels and purchase the planet x stealth machine, will it mean GB's won't give the 10% agreeable discount?

Doug, simple answer get front tub wheel shi*mano/campag doesn't matter then. Then go to http://www.wheelbuilder.com and get a cheapish piece of plastic to cover your rear wheel. Tell the wife you saved a fortune by only buying a front wheel (is it only me who gets told how much the wife has saved when she's been shopping  ) and you'll probably go faster with a cheap plastic disk than most expensive tub wheels.

Alternatively I may have a Hed tri-spoke for sale. Clincher so you don't have to learn how to fit a tub and possibly the only front wheel in the club to go sub-20 minutes for a 10 so it's not too slow. Can be a bitch in strong crosswinds though.

I suspect the next front wheel to go under 20 minutes for a 10 will be a Bora.

Rich, have you seen that Zipp now do a disk with a Powertap built in? Luvley Jubbly.

Wheel covers are specifically covered as being legal on rear wheels, apologies for the pun. I have used them in preference to a Mavic disk for most of my TTs for the last 2 years and have no doubt they aren't more than a handful of seconds slower than a 'proper' disk. I use them as I reckon for me the power feedback you get outweighs any loss of time if you're using a powertap although I'm not sure after Sunday being told that you're generating sod all power is particularly helpful

Jon I had a power-tap in a Zipp 808 rim for the 2006 season. Having compared the data with an open pro wheel with disk covers I changed it last season and put it in a 202 rim. 24 spoked carbon rim with disk covers made a very light disk even after you'd stuck a power-tap in the middle of it. Unfortunately I trashed it in an expensive incident with a pothole on the 12 hour although didn't notice at the time and rode 4 hours on a broken rim. Currently saving up to replace the rim although am musing on how fast an 808 rim with disk covers would be...
