Sat March 29th Addiscombe 2/3!!!!

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Sat 29-Mar Henfold Hill Leigh Village Hall Addiscombe CC 2/3 13:30

Ok so this is our big Road race promtion, who's in? I think we had six participants racing last year. It would be nice to make double figures this year (our own club run  ) Maybe even get Stu/George or ? on the Podium. Two and a half weeks to go - get some of intervals into ya system all you ACC 3rds and 2nds and lets give this a good go. Be there or be that boring shape with four corners :D :D :D :D

So what's the plan for tomorrow's race then chaps? Whose going to win it for the Addiscombe?

I'm not close enough to the scene to know for sure whose strong and whose not these days - plus it's the start of the season in any case. However, the pre-entry list has at least three former elite riders on it. One was never a very aggressive rider and liked to sit in for the sprint finish (and was probably not a real elite IMHO), one also has a lot of MTB / cyclo cross experience and was a solid elite and one we already know about who was also a very good rider - albeit quite a few years ago. Of course, there's also the stronger local riders whom we all know to keep an eye on too.

If someone has some semblance of a plan for the race and feels it would help if I spilt the beans, then by all means PM me! Otherwise my knowledge will remain safe from any preying eyes. However, no plan, then my lips remain sealed!

Enjoy the race. See many of you at some point tomorrow.

Er Tony if you know there are three former Elites you should name them. Ben Wilson et al. That Phil Watkins is pretty strong and there a certain newbie 2nd cat I might keep my eye on coz he probably knows who the big dawgs are  I think the plan is to make sure we have one of our stronger riders (George, Sylv, Marek or Stu) in the decisive break assuming there is one. I'm not sure who our best sprinter is if it comes down to bunch sprint but since I can't sprint I'll happily lead someone out assuming I'm still in reasonable shape
