Was it at he A23/M23 right turn? It can be tricky at times as some of the cars do stupid things to try and nip round you and then dive for the M23 rather than wait a few extra seconds.

As I usually ride with the Gentle-Souls group, I must have ridden with you, Bob - get better soon.

It may not have actually been the M23/A23 junction, but I am always nervous there. I was knoched off by a Bentley driver about 20 years ago ( got his number, and a witness, so recovered broken-bike costs easily). I think it is safer in a big yellow group, signalling wildly. On my own, I would stop on left if traffic around (there's a cycle lane), and zip across when clear.

I echo Andrew's comment about new routes, for variety rather than safety reasons.

Marco. Many thanks for the "posts" and please pass on my best wishes to Bob. He is a good club man and will be missed on the J4F/15/16 CR's; let's hope for a speedy recovery for Bob and a return to the CR.

That is a nasty little section of the CR and this incident reinforces the need for each group to keep together and command the road ie safety in numbers. This is important to new riders who join us. As already mentioned some drivers try and cut in front and leave it to late.
