Suggest that you do an imaginary club run every saturday morning. Get yourself dressed up in yellow then locate a home trainer, a picture of the surrey lanes, a cup of tea and a large piece of cake.

I am not sure how you will handle the group selection thing, but you could have pictures of chaps which best represent each group. You'd obviously have to alter the intensity of your imaginary ride according to the photo you choose.

What da ya reckon.....

Probably just to try and be as active and healthy as possible.
Walk rather than tubes if possible, or just go for walks if there are any parks.
When you get back just start gradually and build up.
I don't think you'll lose that much strength or fitness unless you swap your previously fairly active lifestyle for that of a lazy slob for 6 months. You won't have the problems that you'd associate with a lay-off due to injury, like muscle wastage on a leg if it had been in plaster.

[quote="Sean_BanciaoDad©"]As everyone and his dog knows I'm away for a while and will not be near a bike (Brompton doesn't count) till almost mid July.

I was wondering what all this time off the bike will mean when I return to the loving bosom of the Agreeable CR?

I doubt a trip out with the 19s is sensible, or is it? Weight loss is going to plan and most of it is not sue to trips to the toilet :D However, I'll not have cycled for four months by then. Will the muscles in the legs have lost anything apart from any (no laughing at the back!) power/stamina?

Serious answers only please (he says in vain). Basically I don't want to overdo it when I come back. What should try and do in the three months left in preparation?

Cheers

Sean
Er...in short you're gonna be very unfit bike wise. We could do an experiment and take bets on how long you could stay with the 17s. Seriously though here's the scientific answer.
