MK and Newbury are in the North aren't they? or Midlands at least.

Sat 6th is our Open 10, not the President's 10, I wonder if any ToB contenders need a warm-up? Cancellara at Holmwood would draw a crowd. :D

Not exactly. MK is in Bucks, and Newbury is in Berks - both are therefore in the Home Counties, but wouldn't be anyone's idea of south-east England. Newbury in particular is borderline West Country.

Good thinking.

An idea has formulated, wait until the full team list is out then write to the teams and see if any of the riders would make an appearance. A bit of PR for the team, one of the Brits maybe to ride the 10 - just ride around it and they'd not harm themselves before the start in London.

Ask them to ride in Addiscombe colours :D (well jersey they can keep their team shorts for the sponsors), but let them use a following car from their team. Not legal but I'm sure they won't mind a ban from riding CTT events for a while  . Not exactly going to impact their life and that way they'd have protection from other traffic.

Plenty of pictures in the press, online, and possibly a spot on the TV with the BBC coverage. Publicity for the team involved as the goodest of good eggs, and for the mighty Addiscombe with the rider in ACC kit. 8)

Okay there's no chance of it happening but it was a nice little dream to tide me over 'til hometime.

It's crazy, but it might just work.

Would it help if we wrote in the language of each team, where possible? I could do Spanish and Dutch; elsewhere in the club I'm sure we've got French and Italian covered.

Okay, who I could contact to race at the presidents 10:

Dean Downing (seems well allright)
Russell Downing
Chris Newton
Possibly persuade Peter Luttenburger to get Riis to send a rider
I cant remember all off the top of my head.
On Barloworld's website they have the addresses of their riders, so Geraint Thomas?

Peter Luttenburger, said he'll try and he gave the contact details of the CSC person who is in charge of activites and things of this sort. But he did say that CSC is quite disciplined and these sort of things arent greeted with open arms.

I'll pass them on to whoever wants to invite a CSC rider to the presidents 10.
