SCCU Sporting 21 TT

Wow  8) I had the honour of marshalling this one with the prez 8) . I'll leave the stories to those that rode however I will say - what a FANTASTIC set of times posted today in some foul weather.

2nd - George - 54.27 - including a blow out about 3 miles from the end - this guy is a TT monster
4th - Dominic - 55.20 - awesome
10th - Jon Hemming - 58.52 now that's quick

Surely Team ACC takes the team prize

Rob Royle Evatt - 1.4.01 RRE very happy to beat RV
Richard Viney - 1.4.10 a good time on a course that doesn't suit the big feller (I'll doubtless suffer for that) - not his day tho methinks
Andrew Green - 1.5.17    looking good Mr G
Ivor Hewitt - 1.10.02, hats off to orv for a first time out that's a belter.

Well done to everyone - weather wise that was a stinker, I damn nearly froze solid on that windy corner, Joyce is hard as nails, I'm a wuss!!

Ivor as Snoop says official results will be posted within 4 weeks of event. It's not quite true that SCCU don't do the internet. They have there own website somewhere which has occasional results on it. More useful is

http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/index.asp

which often has full results of events shortly after the race but does rely on organisers e-mailing the results. From past history I wouldn't expect the 21 results to be up there particularly quickly if at all.

Next TT will obviously be the SCCU 10 on 5/4 and the SCCU 25 on 6/4. These are on sporting courses so not super-fast but with the bonus of a pm race for the 10 and not too early a start for the 25. Entries need to go off before Friday though as closing date is next Tuesday and we have a load of bank holidays this weekend.

Once you've done those and got some official qualifying times you will then be well set up to win the handicap prize at the SCCU 25 on 20/4 which is on the Broadbridge Heath course - a dual carriageway course taking in some bits of the extended club run so you will go much quicker than you had done on the sporting 25. If you invest in some clip on tri-bars for your road bike and add those on between 6/4 and 20/4 that will only help in making a mockery of the handicap.

Good luck.

It's a marvellous tactic, I got a tenner for 2nd on handicap using this ploy in these very events last year Ivor. I plan on trying the same this year with the SCCU 50 as the only 50 I will have done is a sporting one a month before. Mind you I envisage that hurting so much that I feel I'll have earnt any money that may come my way.

It was really nice touch getting a small pic with the result sheet. It's come out well with a nice grimacing in to the wind and rain look to it :) . I'm going to call the organiser to see if he can put me in touch with the photographer as I want a bigger one of me (cue the Carly Simon track  ). I'll post up the details if I get them in case any of you are similarly vain.

It's not about vanity - it's about the tongues out comp for 2008!!! Not enough entrants thus far.....
