Due to my previous wheel woes (my only usable spare back wheel being Shimano), that have got worse! I have been researching the compatibility of using a Shimano cassette with Campag 9 speed shifter and gears. On google the consensus seems to be that you can with very little adjustment to the rear mech.

I wil be giving this a bash at the weekend and was wondering if anybody in the club has any experience of it.

I have mixed set up on my winter bike. I use campag 10 speed shifters with shimano rear mech and 8 speed cassette. The set up works fine.

Jonathan B, as you have the 10 speed shifters you can use these with shimano 10 speed cassette, you just need to get the little pulley that converts campag shifting to shimano shifting. Links are on CTC I think.

The job has been done and everything seems to work fine. Campag 9 speed shifters and mech and a Shimano 9 speed cassette. Sorry if it offends the purists (Paul) but when needs must.

I have it from the horse's mouth - Guy Pearson use Campag shifters with Shimano gears because he reckons the Campag ergo brake levers are far more comfortable than Shimano
