[quote="marco"]The chinese have been getting good lately
If they'd have won 9 golds and had a rider sent home for being over the 50% hct limit would we be suspiscious?

genuine question - whats the difference?

Britain have concentrated on the track, which few pro teams do - they just use it as a sideline to road racing, and have a structure in place that nurtures talent and develops the riders 24/7.

Sure, there could be an issue here, but given the checks and controls, is very unlikely.

China on the other hand.....

Britain has always turned out good pursuit riders as far back as Hugh Porter and won a lot of World medals (including many golds) in that event, so it's not all new and spooky. Add in the lottery funding and the amount of time and effort that has gone in to the development and it's not that mysterious. It must be over about the last 15 years (since Boardman's Olympic Gold in '92) that this has built up, not all happened over night.

Oh come on, lets face it, us Brits are far too sporting to try anything like doping.

The Chinese, well of course they're on drugs, just look at their human rights record.

Wait a minute, didn't we do worse back in the days of the empire? Yep.

Not saying the GB track team are 'on it', just that a lot of people think we're whiter than white. There is many shades of grey.

How would you define a 'lot of' cod liver oil. I take one capsule a day, I didn't think you were meant to take more. Maybe I should take more and then I will go faster. What does Cherry Juice have in it then? This sounds interesting, I might overdose of Cod Liver Oil capsules and see if I can win the 1st cat hilly race on Sunday, ill let you know how I get on, that is if I don't end up in the loo when the race starts with a dodgy tum.

Maybe cherry juice masks the cod liver oil, hmm, better get some of that as well then.

Cheers

Further back than that - Liverpudlian Norman Shiel won the pursuit at the old Parc des Princes, Paris, in 1958. I was there!

Er, when someone wins a bike race these days, can't we just beleive they won that bike race?

maybe Rob had too any saunas, according to the latest C+ mag, recent research seems to suggest that taking saunas after training may boost RBC count in a similar way to EPO.

i hate saunas isnt there another way? what about eating iron?

I was wondering could you gather EPO from other people and put into yourself cos then i dont think it would show up because it isnt synthetic.
