Cartoon gig

My band is playing at the Cartoon on Wednesday night.
Would be good to see a few familiar faces there. I think we're second on - about 9:30ish, but not 100% sure. Threre are three bands playing.
The Cartoon have billed the night as 'Melodic Rock'; I'm not so sure about that. But you can be if you turn up and cheer us on - or throw stuff - either's fine; just aim at the drummer.

He sounds good, but Wednesday nights are race at Eastway.

Where is the Cartoon? Could always pop in in full muddy bike gear ...

The Cartoon's on the main road between West Croydon and May Day.
I'm sure mud covered cycling clothing would add to the general ambience of the place.

Funny that, it's on my commuting route but I've never noticed it. Is there a giant Goofy or Minnie Mouse on the roof or something?

Anyway, should be passing by at around 10pm, not sure I want to leave my bike locked outside in this area though!

You're taking your life into your hands just cycling through there at 10:00.
I'm hoping they've got chicken mesh up on the stage - alla Blues Bothrers.

Sylv -

It's right next to that grotty block of flats (Zodiac Court) with the Honda garage and Cinatra's. The dodgy bit of Broad Green (if you can make a distinction between that and the rest of Broad Green). Then there's that defunct club, Wise Guys, which keeps getting set on fire, next to the closed cinema that showed Bollywood films.

The Cartoon is easy to pick out - it's where in late afternoon you can usually see a bunch of skinny teenagers with no shirts, long hair and multiple piercings hanging out under the tree, keeping a close eye on their illegally parked vans/estates.

Accessible by buses 60, 64, 109, 198, 250 and 289.

One would think I lived near there.
