Re Trek and LeMond
Leaving aside the question of Armstrong's innocence - there is no question in my mind as he has never tested positive and I believe a man is innocent until proven guilty - Trek is a business. Thanks to Armstrong they are a very big business and LeMond has been a beneficiary of that by his own association with Trek. So what does he do? He denigrates the achievements of the man who made Trek the company it is today while continuing to enjoy the benefits of association with that company. Certainly he has done little else in the last twenty years to keep himself in the limelight. My only surprise is that it has taken Trek so long to end their association with LeMond.

Neither Trek, Armstrong or LeMond will come out of any court case smelling of roses.

I cannot be the only person who bought a LeMond bike partly on the basis of the lifetime warranty from Trek. No wonder LeMond wants to keep the business association with them.

Ah, the old "never failed a test" defence.

Just like that used by numerous "old school" pros including our old friend David Millar and "athletes" in other sports like Marion Jones et al now caught up in the BALCO net.

Sorry Dombo, but I don't buy it.

The tests are all there is. If you cannot accept the results you don't like then they become subjective and worthless. The logical conclusion of your argument is that everyone is therefore guilty of doping because not failing a test means nothing. Every sportsman/woman whom we admire and who professes to be clean and who has never failed a test must, in your world, be considered guiIty.
The old "prove you're NOT a witch" accusation. If you pass you must be using a hitherto undetectable drug, and if you fail, well, you're guilty.

lol.

Marco you should write a book. Explain HGH please? I still dont see why you cant collect EPO from an alternate body and use it.

Imagine how many people would buy a book with a case saying Armstrong was doping. Just make sure to cover your tracks, so no law suits are filed against you. Or rename armstrong, and other riders.

[quote="marco"] How many times was Lance tested for Autologous or Homologous blood doping? er, none. How many times was he tested for EPO before Michele Ferrari gets his riders to switch to transfusions? er, none. How many times was he tested for HGH, er....you guessed it....None. (Interesting that he ended his career earlier than previously stated once a it became clear that he would be tested for homologous blood doping at the Athens olympics)
.....which eventually leads to more riders deaths like those suffered ...... Marco Pantani and also the large number of young riders who had from epo related deaths over the last decade.

How do you know how many times he was tested, or for what? Blood doping was what did for Tyler Hamilton so presumably LA would have been tested for the same seeing as he rode in the same Tour. Or do you think LA was only tested for blood/alcohol because he rode across a field and smacked into a spectator?

He ended his career in 2005 after his seventh TdF victory. Athens Olympics was in 2004.

Pantani died of acute cocaine intoxication. But hey, never let the facts (or a calendar) get in the way of a specious argument. Chuck enough verbage on a page and some of it will stick.

Pantani was also thrown out of the 1999 Giro D'Italia with a Hct level of 52% (at the time the only test for EPO was the Hct test, with 50% being the cutoff).
