Smithfield Nocturne 2008

Postby Andrew G » Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:16 pm

On again this year, 7th June. http://www.smithfieldnocturne.co.uk/

Regional A Support Race
Date: 7th June 2008
Location: Smithfield Market, Central London
Start time: approx 18:00pm
Rider Category: Senior and Junior Category 2/3/4
Entry Fee : £30  Well it is promoted by Rapha.

I missed last year as I was on a CR to France with 3 other Agreeables, but this year is a must. Plenty of beer gets drunk too :D

For those new to the club George and Jon Carnell did the club proud.

Oh, anyone fancy a Brighton ride in the morning again? 8)

[EDIT: Just clocked the date and no Brighton for me that day as it's my super hilly one in the morning as prep for the Dragon the following week. Oh well with the route I've got planned out those beers will certainly have been worked for :) ]

Think i want to do that too

Though for us at 6pm it's hardly a nocturne

Need to find a way to get rid of the bikes afterwards to watch the Elite race

It's a 2/3/4 race Toks, you don't have to be George level to enter :D . Just have the thrill of racing on closed roads in central London.

I guess they'll do some filtering of entries to avoid having a load of 4th cats plus one or two 3rds. They probably will want mainly 2s plus good 3s but they may just go for the best blend of cats from entries to get the best racing. To an average Joe on the side a 3/4 race (CP standard) going by on a flat circuit would probably look pretty fast.
