If you're planning to race try and get there around six thirtyish to avoid the signing on rush. For the first Palace of the season there's usually quite a good turn out with, one day licencers, turbo training freaks  , experimental-one off-am-I-good-enough-to-race-types all well up for testing their fitness or lack of fitness. Also bring £10 exactly it makes it easier for the race promoter. See you there :D

Have a good one Toks. DNS for me tonight, my legs feeling better but I think another day's rest would be better than hammering around the park, sadly :( .

Palace has a hill in it doesn't it?

OK, that's me ruled out for the season then   .

I'll be happily commuting home this evening until about 7pm instead.

Which night is the Addiscombe promotion? I'll make sure I'm available to marshall that night.

Dan - If you can make it there in time go for Palace, much better race training than a 2x20. Also the first couple of the year there is a few more newcomers (like I was last year) so you're not the only new boy in town. Riding SL 3rds races will have been harder than Palace, but it will probably take you a race or two to get used to the circuit, bends, braking points, lines etc. It's better to get this out the way as early as you can otherwise you'll be doing it once everyone else is back up to speed. I only won't be there as I want to rest my knee as I'm away next week, would be otherwise and you're much stronger than me - don't worry I'm sure Toks will hold your hand if you're frightened  .

Mark - Yes, if you don't ride there which you should be doing really  .

Grahame - Pretty certain it's next week as I'm going to miss it  .

cool, Elephant and Castle is probably more on your way than london bridge then, I can just head down from tower bridge and cut across. Don't know the junction that well it's pretty big isn't it! :) Where's a good/clear meeting point?

well, I got the bike ready last night so looking forward to it with a mixture of dread (remembering chasing up the hill to stay with the groups and losing touch near the top or just clinging on feeling dead) and excitement (swopping down the hill to the bottom left turn corner). Not sure of my fittness levels compared to others so it will be interesting to see where I settle.

From toks's ride in the 3/4 at Hillingdon I expect to see you up front

There isn't one :)

Erm.... I assume if you are coming from Tower bridge that you will be heading down New Kent Road. From what I remember when I worked at 'The Wharf' its all pretty busy at that first big roundabout so we would probably be better meeting at the second one which is a bit smaller.

We can meet at the first left off it Walworth Road. If I am there first then I will be just off the roundabout round the corner on Walworth.

What tim are you thinking of getting there for? I can finish work about 5:15 at the earliest and allow maybe 20 mins to get to E&C??

Mark, Ivor - Not for tonight, but in a couple of weeks when I'm back t'Palace grovelling duty I leave the City and ride over, LB, E&C and heading up the Walworth Rd, so would be good to meet up on the way over. I used to leave work about 5:30ish and got to CP just after 6. It's a bit early but you can do a few practice laps before the youths race so for the first few races earlier arrival will be good to let you get some practice in.
