Chaingang Lite?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

I have to agree with Paul. The circuit is good as it is quiet. The A23 was used I believe when it was dark as it afforded street lighting. From not having road raced in over 20 years I found it good not only for the speed but also cornering skills and jumping out of corners. Not all that needed for TTs but will make you a better all round rider.

Despite my earlier post about finishing work at 6pm I can get to Bletchingley for 6.45pm. So guess I will see others there?

[quote="Paul H"]If you want to race at any level, you need to do this ride.

Also a quick reminder that this is going to be the circuit used for the club RR champs this year - so anyone hoping to cover themselves in glory later this season - get down for these rides and familiarise yourselves with it

Could you pick a flatter course?

I'll be up for a 'slower' chaingang once I'm feeling up to speed on the club runs. Until then I'm planning to go out on me tod in the week as well as the extra miles on the club run (see General)

I know - I wanted a course with at least a gentle hill to make it fairer for everyone (like Newdigate) but bloody Tunnell jumped in crying about the 3% er (if its even that much) up to Partridge lane. Just cos he got dropped 7 times on the 'hill' at Eastway couple of years back we've now got to have a flat course. Stick it on the Ladies Mile and be done with it if it was up to me :D

Funniest thing I ever saw...

If memory serves he started in the (A) race - got dropped, joined the (B) race and they dropped him as well, so he waited for them to come round "I won't contest the sprint though" he promised, joined back in and yep, you guessed it, got dropped again :D

Look on the bright side Paul, at least you wont have to go downhill which seems to be where you have the most issues. Well looks like tomorrow night should be fun, see you at Horne Golf Club for just after 7pm. If I am not at the club I will be cycling around the course, so set the groups off and am sure we will all meet up eventually.

Cheers

Marek....
