I like the kit design, but I have to say that in the past I have been disappointed with the quality of some of the items. I had a couple of pairs of the shorts and they had bits of elastic unravelling from them after the first time of wearing. The socks colour ran very quickly, this could be down to wrong temp on the washing machine, but the socks went a horrible mustardy colour quite quickly.

Have the shorts improved since a few years ago, as I was thinking about trying out some new ones.

The mitts, tops and gillet seem to be pretty good quality though.

Cheers

I've never had a problem with the shorts Marek. The only ones I've had are my current pair which are the new-ish "twist-gel" design. Very comfortable and I get on well with them (and no pulled threads/stitching), and Santini kit in general - but not the mitts. I've also got 2 pairs of the plain black twist-gel ones which have the string vest bibs and are really good in the hotter weather as you don't get such a sweaty strap/bib area.

Never had the socks, they're not white :D .

Sounds like the new shorts are better then, I will try them out when I can next get to GBs.

Cheers

The new shorts are very good (the ones with the kevlar-like external padding), comfy despite the thin padding.

Marek I've had the stitching coming undone on an Assos after a couple weeks! And I never wash them in the machine! I'm still using it but it is literally falling apart. Not buying anymore of that Swiss stuff ...

Thanks for the offers for the jersey, but I'll carry on keeping it together with duct tape and pins ...

What I understood is that the only kit in gb is "xl and upwards" whatever that is

I have a large Addiscombe jersey

I bought it a couple of years ago but have never worn it, and given that I never go road riding any more and have no plans to race in the foreseeable future, can't see that I ever will...

It would make sense to release it to a more deserving home :D

So does anyone want it for £20 (i.e. in new condition)?

I have been informed that there are currently two bib shorts in stock in size XXXXL (that's 4XL, didn't even know that size existed -who in the club can wear that size?)

Oh well it looks like I'll just go out and buy a couple of black pairs of Bib shorts. Any recommendations

Meh, guess I'll have to find some spare ACC yellow fabric to patch up the holes in my jersey then. :(

The Santini Twist-Gel ones. Very comfortable, and I've found them to be hard wearing too. Not the cheapest but then if you're sitting on a bike for hours at a time...

This is an upto date stock check ( a couple of weeks ago) from GB Cycles of what they have in ACC colours. There seems to be a fair spread of sizes ( :( apologies if the prices are hard to read, but you get the idea)

hmm lots of sizes, as long as you want long sleeve tops, armwarmers, leggings or hats. :)

still no sign of short sleeve tops (just XL and XXL) - getting too hot for my long sleeve top.
or bib shorts with the decent gel insert.
