White horse challenge

Postby jon avery » Mon Apr 28, 2008 8:16 am

Well i went down to Swindon on Saturday as my cousin lives there and thought we would make a weekend of it. The ride which was 150km started at 8am and the route took you around the Wiltshire countryside. The event was very well organised with lots of staff 2 feed stations which were well stocked with cakes, bananna's, jaffa cakes etc, There was a lack of Addiscombe shirts on view  Just myself and Andy to represent the club!! There were three steep climbs but apart from that is was a nice rolling ride, The forcast had been rain so it was a very pleasent suprise when it stayed sunny all the way around 8) I finished in a time of 5hrs 40mins giving me a silver grade finish, cosidering i not long ago had a broken collarbone i was happy with that. Charlotte said she had heard there had been a crash which luckily i wasn't involved in.So overall a good day, you should give it a try next year!! Bring on Dartmoor on the 11th May!!

Well done Jon, good to hear you're back fit and well on the bike and preparing for the Dragon :D , although you should have had some beer to help with the prep for that one  .
