When addiscombe had a mtb section !!!

Postby drizzle » Fri Apr 25, 2008 7:05 pm

Just wondered if there is still a mtb section going.
I was a member a few years ago with Jason, 12 stone , sylv (i see he's still on here) Doc, 8 ball , Ric, Will,Cushtie etc where are they now ?
I have been riding with a few people from Big foot here in Hayes (incedently the shop is for sale) however I miss the rides from ECR particularly the north down rides and the long one we used to do over to Boxhill.
So how about a ride soon and I'll come along bring a couple of riders from Big foot ?
Cheers

Nuff about the mtb - I reckon of your four names - Big Hit Pyjama Pants is the one you should settle on - nice

Hey Martin yep would be good to have a big mtb ride sometime, just like the good ol days (newcomers welcome too as I know there are a few itching to get on one of our rides). I'll get marco on the case!

Why wait until June ? I'll be around this Sunday (2 May) if anybopdy is up for an old style MTB ride from East Croydon (taxi rank side). Time 9.45 for 10.00.

Marco, if you reckon there are enough beginners around we could make it a shorter one and finish at 1pm.

Hi

I'm one of the new people who's keen to join a ride but, sod's law, can't make this Sunday as I am travelling for work and can't get out of it. Sorry! Have a good one if you go out and I'll definitely join next time. The Sunday after?

Probably, I'd like to make it a regular thing at least for a few weeks.

Just a reminder, they're be an MTB ride fro East Droydon stn tomorrow leaving at 10, leaving fairly prompt unles I know someone is coming. Pace will be easy with breaks (it'll have to be after being run ragged on the box hill loop today), distance whatever can be covered in about 3 hours.

Might join you; my mtb hasn't seen the light of day since about November and I'm itching to test some new lightweight bits I've acquired over the winter.

Decent ride today. 3 of us took the Keston loop, wal and marco on full suss bikes but me on my cross bike. Pace was easy, thank god, so there was plenty time to catch up again after the 2 full suss's enjoyed the downhills to the full. The fact that it was possible at all on a rigid cross bike with 32m tyres shows it can't be that technical and definitely suitable for beginners or anybody who wants to get a break from the tarmac for a while.

Similar one next week ?

Just another reminder, there will be a similar MTB ride this Sunday , maybe out to North Downs Way or WOD depending on who turns up and the time available.

As before the details are :

leaving from East Croydon stn (taxi rank) Sunday, leaving at 10, leaving fairly prompt unless I know someone is coming. Pace will be easy with breaks, distance whatever can be covered in about 3 hours.
