Crystal Palace was an extreme water sport. Did you see how much was flowing down Anerly Hill? It's at times like that I wish I nad a bin liner to slide down on. :cry:

I used to be part of croydon active paddlers before i left england, very nice sociable club

do a range of river jaunts stopping at pubs right up to grade 4/5 whitewater stuff,

very nice bunch

Kayaking - another outdoor sport I'm interested in but can't find the time to do!
I've been looking at Kayak weekends in Ross on Wye for later in the year.

Let me know if you find any good links closer to home.

only done it on holidays in France, seems a culture with very little Health & Safety rules! Hired them and wasn't asked about training or given any training or pointers, left by the river (fast flowing in some parts) and told to drop them off when we reached the riverbank where they collect them. They couldn't have picked a worse stopping point but by that stage we'd had just about enough practice to manage getting to the side. Great fun, did it a few times on the lake by the campsite as well.

scott, get in touch with croydon active paddlers, they do all sorts of trips, local and in wales and scotland
