Surrey League Handicap May 15th Help Required

Postby Snoop Doug » Fri May 02, 2008 6:45 am

Hi all - We need helpers for this please as follows:

lead car
commissaire's car (tbc)
sign on (1 possibly 2...who can then help out at the judging as well)
canteen preferably 2
marshals at least 6, preferably 9
Judges - as many as possible!

Race HQ is Newchapel Village Hall and race starts @ 7.15pm. Race organiser is the world famous Tamar Collis.

I will be sending out a mass mail - meantime, if you can assist, well you know the drill by now :D

Cheers - Snoop

I can lead car (will I get working flashing lights this time? :) )
are we going to:
warn riders off using the whole road width? (threat of disqualification?)
find out who the local community officer is on the day and invite them along?

Lets not overcomplicate things Ivor. Not all road races are quite so ''right handed'' as the ACC SL RR. Handicaps are mostly more spread out.

I'll do canteen - if someone can get me there. I can get to the nearest rail station which is Lingfield as I'll be coming straight from work.

My intention is to ride, but if we can't get enough helpers, I'll cover one of the jobs, (as per Surrey League rules.)

Thanks for the offer of help so far y'all.

I've sent a mass mail out today so I'm sure in the usual ACC stylee - we'll get there.

Sorry it was a late call to arms - I've got a family emergency on the go @ the moment and I'm struggling more than usual to spin da plates.

Hope to resume normal service soon.

Cheers - Snoop

I will be there but ideally want to race as it is difficult for me to make many of these due to time i get back from work. This one is the closest to home.

cheers

We're still a little light on the ground - particularly for the finish - so if anyone else is able to help out and ensure this is up the the usual Agreeably high standards of event promotion it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all who have already offered to help. I've provisionally assigned people to tasks as set out below and what time you need to be there. If I've inadvertently missed anyone off the list then please accept my apologies and let me know.

Amy - has anyone offered you a lift yet?

Set out signs - Tamar Collis & Keith Knight - By 6.30pm
Sign on - Michelle Le Brun - 6.00 – 7.15
Lead car 1 - Paul Hone - 6.30
Lead car 2 - Ivor - 6.30
Bike escort - Keith Knight
Left turn into Bones Lane - Adam Cotterell & David Dishman - 7.10
Left turn into Brickhouse Lane - Robert Wilson & Huw 7.15
Left turn into Croydon Barnes Lane - Toks & Alan Malarkey - 7.15
Finish judging - Tamar & Michelle
Canteen - Amy and Rob Wilson's girlfriend
