hi thanks for that tow Adam...i think the training group was going at about 12 mph on sat...so wasn't really too hard to catch them

Not one for training plans of gadgets...I can never them to work right

ocassional use a heart rate monitor and noticed that

at 'sweetspot' like huw without powermeter....'brisk' training 8) ...its about 165 heart rate for me....170 starts crossing threshold... :o

178. :x ...im burning up.... 180 george is pushing me up Box Hill

I can tell I think by feel where I'm at...using feel...and remembering the ride through some old fashioned 'narrative' (as opposed to the story of data files)

Huw will you be swapping data files in the pub when you hang up your cleats and reminisce

So im riding club runs at brisk pace...tagged along with Richard Munday and Kevin Rhynee this week.. both 3rd cat riders...

Its more quality than I used to do...

I changed my rear casette to 11-23 from 12-25 yesterday afternoon...just in time...perfect for hillingdon...

Hung on at very wet and windy Hillingdon circuit last night...rained the whole time, except last 10 minutes....I saw a break of 4-5 riders going ....and I didn't push myself hard enough to stay on...mistake as it would have been great chance to finish in the top half, even without sprint...lazily i let it go and tried to get the remaining five riders working together...we lost sight of riders up road....the riders i was with jumped on to the e123 race as it came through on last lap...i let them go...Finished comfortably...was a short race...pretty fast...as only committed racers turned up, or chancers like me ! My 12th position doesn't look so wonderful when you know only 13 started 4th cat race...

Could have gone harder...

A little bit of above threshold training then...

Still trying to lose some weight...want to go down from 73 to 69.5 - within BMI - but improve strenght...muscle...

I'm actually fuelling myself much more scientifically now...to replace glycogen...so I eat before rides...take pps2 on rides...and rego/recovery drinks straight after riding...it means my energy levels stay more constant and I'm less fatigued...Got a box of torq pineapple and ginger bars with ribose yesterday....another 20 to eat !

That was a rubbish report. Can you write it a again please and if you're going to inject some humour can I suggest you pay attention to the king of the 261watt club, and forum humour specialist a certain E. Munnery. Ha ha only joking Sups. As I've been telling you for donkeys you need a dedicated second weekly workout. Why not start another chaingang for wednesdays or thursdays. Then jumping on the back of some breakaway won't be such a stretch :D

Super Ajay!! 8) You've gotta be in it, to win it mate. I came 21st out of 21 in the SCCU BAR last year - but hey - I got a place and that was alright for me @ the time. Could have gone harder.....couldn't we all  great learning for next time. Last Sunday's ACC 25 was probably the first time I've had to manage pain on a race of that distance, and now I can't wait to get reacquainted  Where'dyou get the food info - I could probably be a lot smarter on that front. Anyway - well done!! That was my main reason for writing gone off on a bit of a tangent as per usual

Cheers - Snoop

owww thanks guys, you're just great !!! Got to try harder to make the Addiscombe name shine !

I saw a lovely dietician called Darren Barclay (form.me) courtesy of Cycling Weekly - he's got a web site and does a clinic at Cycle fit - If you say Addiscombe - he'll do a special rate Snoop...you're obviously in the form of your life...so definitely would consider an appointment with him... i thought i knew about food and biology...but he makes you think much more clearly about what you need to do as a cyclist...and thats the key...

Marky Mark...have you got your racing licence...if so...let me know...as i'm planning to get a few 4th cat ACCers to target a Saturday Hillingdon race in the next few months !
