[quote="adrian"][quote="Grahame"]What was wrong?
Apart from the cronyism and corruption, you mean?
How about the blatent anti-semitism? the "hug a terrorist" initiative?
So, ignoring Ken's public embracing of cultural diversity in London, you're happy to interpret that 'concentration camp guard' episode as anti-semitism (and not just part of a sustained - and ultimately successful - hatchet job by the Evening Standard) but don't mind Boris' use of the word 'picaninnies' or his ranting about Africa and Africans?
And cronyism? Boris will be relying heavily on the longest-standing form of cronyism in politics in this country - the old-school-tie network.
I have no problem with Ken's public embracing of multiculturalism, it's his private selective attitude towards it that grates with me. If Boris selects advisers and helpers who can do a job, then great. It's called delegation. If he can't (or they appear to be funnelling hundreds of thousands of pounds into accounts of their friends and lovers) then that would be croneyism, and not good.
Having said all that, I'm not prepared to lose friends over it.
