Woo! 1:10:32

I think that was 87th out of the 100 who finished.

Really really happy with that. (although a sub 1:10 would have felt even sweeter)
Felt really good, bit of a lull at the 17 mile mark where I think I was drifting off with the fairies... then a chap on a fixie powered by I and snapped out of it. Knew the finish was uphill and started winding it up towards the end, but thought it was further to go and didn't give it enough. :(

Also.... I thought Kent down near ashford was flat. :? Somewhat undulating course the Q25/8.

1 Gary Birch - Velo Club Elan - 53-40
2 Paul Mill - Team Edwards - 53-53
3 Phil Bull - Velo Club Elan - 54-38
4 Paul Burros - Kent Cycles Racing Club - 55-37
5 Reg Smith - DCB Kent - 56-11
6 Stephen Castle - GS Invicta - 56-17
7 David Wheeler - Thornton Road Club - 56-35
8 Richard Payn - 34 Nomads Cycling Club - 57-23
9 Jamie Beecham - Velo Club Elan - 57-27
10 Carl Chapman - GS Invicta - 57-38
87 Ivor Hewitt - Addiscombe CC - 1:10:32

Well done Ivor, nice result to keep shipping away at the PB.

I was on that course a few weeks ago and am back there next week as counters for the SPOCO series, so it's counted as a sporting course too.

A bit of a drag out to the second turn, but that start is lovely isn't it :D .

Well done Ivor, that's not an easy course by any means. It takes a lot of concentration to judge your efforts to maximise the speed up and down those drags.

Well done Ivor - another go on the G25/53 and you'll crack that 1.10 mark no doubt. Congratulations and keep it up!!

Have you got normal sized handlebars...? If so I've got a great set of Pro carbon ones - comfy & light. You can have a borrow - if you like 'em - mebbe you might buy 'em...?

Well done! Only 30 seconds to knock off. Pick yourself a nice flat fast course next time, eh

FSA shallow drops, 31.8 (that's normal isn't it? or is that oversized?) Would love to try them...

That's oversized, although most bars hve a bulge that size these days anyway so when does oversized becomes normal, and normal thin?

Nice 8) . You are, and will, improve in a few lumps I'm sure. Keep your eye out for events that award a handicap prize (SCCU do) and a few more quid could find their way in to your pocket. :D
