Nice one Adam! Good old kph you got going there. Nice to know you are no longer feeling like a newbie. God, you guys were going some pace up that back straight. Put me and the rest of the chicks to shame  Mind you we were having a nice little chat, surprised the teacups weren't coming out

Yes Lisa had a good result in that race. The other woman she had been talking about going on a break with, Helen from Crawley Wheelers, got a puncture on the last hill. BUMMER!

Also nice to know that you saw me going for a break, always good when you have a witness

Well done Michelle and if you didn't know you get your entry fee back from the club when you win a race :D

All you gotta do now is win another one and you get complimentary club membership for the year 8)

[quote="Michelle"]So the race was not really a good indication of my fitness or ability. Or of many other people's either.
Brilliant stuff Michelle. Its tempting to think you're strong and you're bound to win. But its not that simple. Quite a few strong riders don't win races. You won with with humility and I think thats our first ACC Road Race win this year so its a double Chapeau. Have you stopped smiling yet? :D :D :D

As ever, Toks, your kind words, praise and encouragement are appreciated and noted :D

I haven't stopped smiling quite yet! I was giggling for a time last night, but I think that was the champers.

Think I will probably stop smiling about ......5kms into the womens regional race next Saturday, whilst I am chewing my bar tape and trying not to get spat out of the back of the pack

Excellent stuff, Michelle - congratulations. And you can only beat the people in front of you - not that there were any, come the finish 8)

Yay! Well done Michelle.

It's almost enough to make me think about racing again*.

Very well done on your result Michelle - a well deserved one too.

Also well done on 3rd place to Lisa S, who has proved to be a bit of a revelation this season.

So it looks like we could be in for a lively race at the SE Champs this Saturday !

See you there.

Maria

(Btw they are taking entries on the day for any others interested.)

There were lots of great results last weekend. Well done for winning and I hope it feels good!

I'm sure if you wanted to, Michelle, you could be a dominant woman's rider in the SE in a relatively short period of time. For now, well done for this victory.

Sylv:

that's one hell of an admission, but you must know me very well! I think the problem is all the brown rice and pasta...still, if it makes you go faster

Everyone else - thanks for the zillions of well wishes and encouragement. For now I am loving every second. I reckon these sorts of posts don't come around that often :D
