Fatal stabbing in Croydon

http://www.croydonguardian.co.uk/news/l ... t_Croydon/

I rode past the scene un-knowingly, it must have just had happened as there was no police yet, just a dozen person huddled in a dark corner of pavement in front of Lidl, wondered what it was about but not fond of stopping in that area. Felt awkward when I heard about it this morning :| . I know it keeps happening but you don't usually get that close to it.

Was on the news at lunch time. Often when I hear about a stabbing I don't pay it a second thought. As, sadly, they seem to be all too common around London these days. But when listening to the circumstances I was quite moved, it is a sad story indeed. Hopefully they catch the people/person involved. Sylv, you didn't see anyone running away did you? I'd have done the same as you though, given the circumstances.

It is very sad and such a tragic useless waste of life. :|

It made me react differently towards a situation I came across today though. Me and the good lady were out walking today and we deceided to cut through the playing field that our house backs on to. We saw this young couple ahead of us who seemed to be having a bit of a kicking and wrestling match, as we approached we could hear them f'ing and blinding at each other. He grabbed the womans arm and really tried to hurt her. I said to my misses I'll go over and try calm the situation down and if needs be give the lad a slap, something in the past I've never thought twice about doing. My misses just grabbed me and told me to leave them to it as she was giving as good as she was getting anyway and there was a good chance they'd set about me for my troubles. She reminded me of this horrific story we'd heard earlier on the news and the fact you just never know who your confronting or what they're armed with.

No, and to be honest I thought it could either have be an old person having collapsed, in which case there were plenty of people around to help, or simply people gathering to the scene of a previous road fatality or crime, as they sometimes do with flowers etc - it was so dark (bus stop near Lidl) and people were in such a tight group I couldn't see someone was probably lying there in a blood bath, and it was quiet with no sign of violence or disrepute.
