OK - provisional plan, and subject to change tonight upon Commissaire's advice:

Set out signs - Tamar Collis, Joyce & Keith Knight - 5pm
Sign on - Michelle Le Brun, Maria David - from 6pm
Lead car 1 - Paul Hone
Lead car 2 - Ivor Hewitt
Bike escort - Keith Knight
Left turn into Bones Lane - Adam Cotterell & David Dishman
Left turn into Brickhouse Lane - Robert Wilson & Huw Williams
Left turn into Croydon Barnes Lane - Toks & Alan Malarkey
Finish judging - Tamar, Michelle, Andrew Green, Roy Green, Hal Bransby, Tony, Maria
Canteen - Amy and Rob Wilson's girlfriend

Maria/Michelle - will you be able to be there for 6.00 please for any early sign-on?
Marshals & drivers please arrive by 6.30 if possible.
Finish judges - if you arrive early then we may put you helping out as extra marshals but please make your way to the finish line (the golf club on Croydon Barnes Lane) for 8.15 to be there in plenty of time for the finish.

Ta v much everyone.
See you tonight.

The flooded A22 Eastbourne Road was expected to remain closed both ways for the rest of the day because of the size of the main, BBC travel reports said.

This is just down the road from the course. Not sure how much disruption there will be to the roads by this evening but is does say that the road will be closed all day.
If so it's entirely likely diversions will go through the course. If not then certainly people who know the roads will be going that way.

Oh ********!

If anyone knows how bad this actually is, or what the situation with the A22 is can they post please. My best chance of being able to get there in time to help with the number spotting at the finish kind of relies on being able to shoot straight down it :? . Otherwise it's through Bletchingley but if everyone's diverted that way it could be a bit tricky.

Cheers.

Coming form the North as you do, the turn off for Horne is before you get to Blindley Heath so the only proble would be if traffic was backed up.

There is an adjacent circuit that we can use, but would probably still involve part of the diversion (if that is the case)

Will your car go that far? Better not risk Bletchingly, you'll block that route as well if it falls apart in the road :D

Ta Paul, just had another shufty at the map. Don't know all the lanes around there so was going to go to Newchapel and then cut up to the circuit.

Huw, I can assure you my car will look lovely to you when it's pissing down with rain and chilly and I'm sitting in there with the heater on 8) .

I've just driven North along Brickhouse Lane and encountered 2 coaches, an artic & plenty of cars coming south. Let's hope things quieten down later!

Well, that's two races I've marshalled at this year and I haven't touched a flag, shouted at a dog or argued with any motorists as yet - what a season :(
