Skin suit sizes (and GB Stock)...

Postby Ivor » Thu May 15, 2008 7:59 am

Probably won't be able to get around to dropping into GB cycles soon.. and since they have stock in (yes they do!) I was going to order a few bits online.
Can anyone give me some ideas of the sizes for the skin suits? and are the short jersey tops similar sizing to the long sleeve ones?
I've bought other tops before and found that from the same manufacturer short sleeve stops are often more generous and baggy for the same size than the long sleeve.

Thanks for the tip on stock! New jersey on order.

The long-sleeved jerseys are a bit more generous, but then you probably wear a bit more under them. I have the same size of each and, as I have lost some weight since I first got them, they are equally ill-fitting.

Skin suits are pretty flexible apart from the zip length.

I am pretty much a medium in most things, but my skinsuit was XXL

Probably of no help as I don't have a skinsuit but with ACC, and Santini kit in general, I take one size larger than normal clothes. I'm a M in just about any clothes, but a L in Santini - and lots of other Italian kit too :? , there're not a small nation so must be some kind of Mussolini thing where he got the sizing changed as he didn't want to be seen as a small  .

I concur with the findings of Mr Green's report. I take a S in men's clothes and a M in Santini kit.

Are you sure it's a skinsuit you've got, not a tent?

Ivor, It was very scary and I was wearing cycling shoes so couldn't run away. If you see Marco at a TT make sure there are at least 3 other club members between you to make sure you avoid this fate.

In your new role do you seriously expect to get more women to join the club by holding a skinsuit party?

I use a medium skinsuit. I'm about 5ft 9in and weigh about 11 st. I can just fit into the dude, though I feel like I've shrunk about an inch and a half once I've forced me shoulders into it. I was taking it off after the race last weekend and some nice chap thought I had a collar bone injury such was the weirdness of the position I had to adopt to remove it. Still - as you will see from the tongues out comp it's a snug fit alright  8) .If you're any taller than me don't go medium - unless you want to give the rest of us a reet good laugh  .

hmmm, ok just have to try them all on then. 6'2" & 33" waist means stuff's usually either way too short and the right width... or just the right length and way too baggy.
and, and and.... why are trouser sizes only even inches hmm.... 32" too tight, 34" too baggy. :?

The clue is in the name - SKINsuit. If you don't look like a gimp in it then it's too big  .
