Good ride Michelle.
You could always take your injured bike back to the shop and see what they say

Mich, I know a guy who does repairs to carbon...most bike shops won't touch it...but he builds carbon race cars for a living and, as a triathlete, has an interest in bikes so does that as a sideline. I'll dig out his details for you.

Hey Michelle, in the break well clear and so close to getting 3rd if not the win, you must be chuffed.

Great write up, shame about the crashing bit.

Some manufactures or at least the importer/distributor do a crash replacement frame for a reduced price. The tricky bit with carbon is knowing how bad the damage is. It might not look much but could be weakened to fail like glass later. The supplier of your frame would be best to advise you. The peeps Tamar knows could be very usefull. The guy I knew when I needed Ducati Carbon parts repaired has moved away to bigger and better things but I've lost touch....typical.

I'm relieved the crash helmet did its job. If you contact the peeps you bought it from, again, you may find there's a crash replacement scheme were you'll get a new one for a reduced price if not free.

Anyways there'll be a club jersey for you to collect FOC at GBs as long as they have your size in stock. I've replaced a few for crashers hopefully it's the only one you'll need. If it's more convenient PM me and I'll get it sent to you.

Michelle

Well done thats an impresive result. Nicely played too sitting up front and keeping fresh for the sprint. Well done indeed.

Hope you are recovering from the post race meet up with the tarmac, at least you had crossed the line upright.

Another great result, Michelle. Well done. Hopefully nothing damaged too badly from the incident after the finish line.

What's your next target?

Keith K,

thats a really nice thing to do to replace my jersey. Sounds like it may be a bit of a regular mercy mission for you. I am very touched by such a lovely gesture. And grateful. Thanks very much.

As it happens I plan to go up to GB's tomorrow (Tuesday 20th May) in my lunch hour so they can have a look at the chip.

I seem to be recovering ok, just a stiff neck and some friction burns on the back and hip and a soon to be lighter wallet.

My next goal is to do La Marmotte in July ....

a) without falling off the bike, crashing, and/or injuring myself or any other rider
b) before the broom wagon sweeps me up
d) without getting any high speed blow outs on those Alpine descents
c) on an apricot and half a banana

I may do a couple of the Thursday Handicaps, but only if i've been really really bad and need to beat myself up.

I'm sure it's character building....or something.

Get Keith to buy a nice "stone" to glue over the chip!
