Actually I crashed on the way to a race! on the morning of the NYCC Champs. I raced anyway though suffered a mechanical due to the crash I guess but finished.
It was 8am and 95% humidity and about 85 degrees. The heavens opened as I rode home and the ensuing thunderstorm was horrendous, certainly not a day to stand at the side of the road so we decided to stay in, work on my wounds and watch it all live on tv. Paul Sherwen was a commentator, he is a cycling God over here. You guys ever heard of Bob Roll, he's America's version of Duffield, kinda. Tv coverage was great except for the adverts every second lap or so, they were pushing the event as a sign that NYC would be a great Olympic host, unfortunately the rain kept the big crowds away. Saying that I'd prefer to see it in London.
Woke this morning and Jayne's comments are correct, new gel pads needed - yeucchhh.
And I wont be riding until I get my rear wheel straightened out.
I see and hear that Goodwood was a resounding success, well done to everyone involved especially Keith who I know put so much work and passion into the event.
More from me soon.
