Wednesday Ride - 21st May

Postby Andrew G » Sun May 18, 2008 8:33 pm

I've got the day off work so will go out in the morning (due to be sunny :D ) before sofa slumping in front of the Giro.

Is anyone about and fancy joining me? Will probably do a hilly loop so nothing mad pacewise, just steady spinning my legs out between them. About 2 hours or so depending on my mood but won't be too long just a few verticals.

Happy to come in to Croydon to meet so let me know or I'll just head out from home.

Cheers,

Andrew.

I would love to race on Wednesday as it would be (assuming I race Tuesday), my 21st race of the season, on my 21st birthday on the 21st of may! Of course I would either have to win or at the very least come Twenty1st

However, I am having dinner at my hotel instead with the family etc...

It's the least I could do Adam  :) .

Very tempting Marco but I raced on Sunday, will do Palace on Tuesday, and then have a long SPOCO TT next Sunday so think my legs will fall off if I race on Wednesday too. My name's not PVT, or Sylv, or George......... :D .

I fancy doing the odd thing on some Wednesday's if I can fit it in so might squeeze in a Beastway or two as it did look fun when I marshalled last year. What time is kick off as I'd have to get there from work (train from Liverpool St. if I remember)? 1 hour long race? assume it's EOL in the more relaxed less red-tape world of MTBs? When do they run until?

Is there an ACC promotion this year as it would be good to ride that one.

Questions, questions, questions  .

Answers, answers, answers:
Beastway races are 45minutes (ish) plus a lap.
Entry On the Line. No need for a licence - mountainbiking is much more inclusive.
There are 6 races scheduled. One every two weeks from this Wednesday (21st May) until 30th July.
Addiscombe have the joint promotion on 2nd July.

Andrew,

I'm around on Wednesday and would be up for spinning the legs out after Palace. What time were you thinking?

Nothing too early Bri, say a 9:30 start.

Will probably do "Huw's Hilly Wednesday" route including Old Farleigh, Slines Oak, Chalkpit, Titsey/White, Hesiers, Bug hills. Just spin along between the hills but I should do a few of the vertical things before the Dragon. Probably only about 30-35 miles but with the hills be about noon ish return.

Open to all comers if you're free, easy spinning between hills.

No Huw I didn't, my bike stayed in one piece!

Alright so I over egged the time but it was only spinning between hills and then riding up, no charging up like a nutter.
