isle of wight club run 2008 - 4th/5th oct

Postby huw williams » Wed May 21, 2008 2:38 pm

Anyone want to go again this year? - I'm trying to put a rough date in the diary, probably around mid-september.

If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, here's last year's report and feedback:

I've booked it in my diary. :D

Are we going for the same arrangement, staying at Yarmouth overnight?

So long as there aren't any football or other major sporting events on that involve (mostly) blokes drinking loads of booze, making an awful racket and generally doing stupid things. Not that the ACC members were doing anything like that, oh no...

Any chance you can do some riding this summer so as not to get beaten like a rented mule and complain all the way round again :D :D :D

Please could we have some more people who do not want to race round the island :?

John and I had a very enjoyable time, going at a nice leisurely pace, stopping when we wanted to, seeing the sights such as Appledore House, a whole bevy of birds of prey being taken for a walk (honest) and Newtown Old Town Hall (c1600s)

Thank you Williams, I shall actually be racing nearly every weekend and once during a lot of the weeks....so I will probably arrive in an even worse shape  .

It was the fact that it was advertised as an end of season lope rather than a leg-ripper, combined with only just having got out the car after a 2 hour drive while you were poncing about doing a warm to prepare for a race start that I was complaining about  .

No bloody powertap crap to come with you or we'll have to get even more drunk this time to block out all the watty talk while you're drowning watches :D :D :D .

BTW are we looking at 4th/5th Oct as a date? No clash with the Bec hill climb again then so we can all ride that too.

Bec's on the 12th so the 4th/5th weekend would be excellent for IOW.
