I had such a good day with 2 of the most patient people.
I can not thank both for the support you gave me on our Saturday Epic Marathon (mentally and physically), I forced a stop on the way home due there being a communication problem between my brain and heart saying pedal, the legs reply was 'not on your nelly Marky'.
The ride down there I think averaged over 18 sort of cross wind assisted, nice cafe with views of the pier, time to fill up with beer chips energy bars etc.
THEN WE HAD TO RIDE HOME, that's when the trouble started. Wind assisted time trial to Shoreham then turned right into the hills and valleys of the South of England.
I seemed to be riding a 30 stone bike every time I tried to go up hill, I seemed to be OK on the flats, but the hills knocked the crap out of me. Even with the hand of god(s) on me pushing me.
Paul and Sylv you are true gentlemen for staying with me that day, I could NOT of finished that run if I was on my own. I felt so low when I hit the 'wall' at about 73 miles
. I am sorry for slowing things down even though you said it was OK and it wasn't a race.
I got through that bad patch after our stop and had the goal of the 100 egging me on. What a feeling that was just between Hooley and Coulsdon the magic 100 miles.
My goal when I started cycling this year was to maybe try to ride London to Brighton.......... Smashed that one.

I loved the day

The ride is harder than it sounds
I owe Sylv and Paul lots of beer and cake one day (I won't forget)
I feel stronger for that ride
Everyone I know is shocked that I done it
I am over the moon for doing it
Stayed awake for a friend Barby which started 15 minutes after finishing the ride
Round of golf Sunday and won
Mountain bike ride Monday cancelled due to bad weather
Paul Has a lovely new house
Sylv is the smoothest rider I have ever seen (PS he is not human and needs new batteries every week
)
