I've ridden the SCCU 50 course. You only do Tollgate on lap 1, second time around you do a quick out and back off the farthing interchange (immediately after where the 25 finishes) and then basically do the 25 course again minus Tollgate.
Last time I rode about the pace for a 25 for lap 1 except I kept it steady after the Southwater turn. I did what at the time was a 25 PB on the first lap. Lap 2 is flatter and when I hit Southwater for the second time I pushed a bit harder and finished the 2nd 25 a bit quicker than the first.
I carried a bottle of water, a bottle of cack and two energy bars. I stuffed the first bar at the Farthing interchange on lap 1 and the second.....well to be honest I forget
This year I think I will adopt a similar approach except at higher speeds. Also when I hit Southwater for the 2nd time it's tank emptying time.
