Yep we all know that it isn't a free country and that we're spied upon all the time, they want ID cards so we can have every detail about us stored in one convenient place to be nicked in one convenient go and viewed by those with no right to half the info on it incase I've suddenly become a terrorist (have they ever thought that what they do might be driving people to it).....but, this is just bloody madness now.

Click on the related links as well for even more terror - I never knew that Heathrow T5 was fingerprinting you like a murderer even for an internal flight.

oh, well, I've been fingerprinted coming and going to Japan. I'm sure the info will be held in the upmost security by our responsible governments. Think of all the positive benfits ID cards will bring, lets start a list:

1. Proof of age, those who look younger than 18 but are older will be able to get served.

2. ...

Well worth the billions.

I wonder whether they need to change the statement at the front of everybody's passport as "hindrance" and "not pass freely" seem to be the Modus Oparani at airports nowadays:

"Her Britanic Majesty's Secretary of State, Request and require in the Name of His Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may necessary".

The thing is, ID cards cant stop Terrorism, because almost every "terrorist" is a "clean skin", terrorists usually have no criminal record. the card is just there to identify the terrorist once he's done something stupid???

It's all a load of rubbish Mo. Last time I was at the airport they made a woman in front of me take her shoes off to be scanned - they were a pair of sandals with a sole about 3mm thick and one shoelace thick strap  .

Binary explosives, they’d fit in a sandal, so it probably was for the best…
